Sugar, for example, is highly addictive, while protein is not. So, the thinking goes, if you eliminate the most addictive foods from your diet, you’ll be less likely to overeat.

The problem is, there’s no scientific evidence to support this claim. In fact, some experts say that BLE is nothing more than a fad diet.

So, what’s the verdict? If you’re looking to lose weight, there are better, more proven strategies out there.

But if you’re curious about BLE, there’s no harm in giving it a try. Just be sure to talk to your doctor first.

Bright Lines are the fundamental concepts that underpin BLE. These are limits that are crystal obvious and unmistakable, and they are not to be crossed under any circumstances.

Sugar, flour, meals, and quantity are the four components that make up the Bright Lines.

What is not allowed on Bright Line Eating?

If you want to be able to call yourself a “bright line eater,” you have to make a commitment to follow these four guidelines and do your best to ensure that you never breach them: (including all sweeteners besides fruit).

Do not consume flour in any form, including alternative flours or processed grains. Meals should be the only time you consume food; in between meals, you should not consume anything.

I just adore having that choice! That is how I have my breakfast: potatoes and eggs! It looks delicious! When I make hash browns, I get the waffle iron that doesn’t stick heated up, spray it with olive oil, and then cook the potatoes for approximately 15 minutes.

Can You Eat Bananas on Bright Line Eating?

According to the Bright Line EatingTM Food Plan, the unit of measurement for grab-and-go fruits like apples, pears, oranges, or bananas is simply one piece, while the weight for berries, melon, or any other kind of fruit that isn’t a one-unit serving is six ounces.

This is true, and it’s one of the many things that makes the Bright Line EatingTM Food Plan so appealing.

There are cold cereals that do not violate the bright line diet. The Uncle Sam brand is definitely one of my favorites.

However, another option is to use shredded wheat or puffed rice. Simply measure out one serving of Uncle Sam’s cereal and add fifty percent of a protein serving’s worth of milk to the bowl.

On the food list for one serving of grains are the following items: 4 ounces of potato or sweet potatoes, 4 ounces of cooked rice, quinoa millet, and 1 ounce (measured dry) of oatmeal, oat bran, cream of rice, grits, cream of wheat, or quinoa flakes.

Other grain options include cream of wheat, cream of rice, and cream of oats.

Is Bright Line Eating Enough Calories?

It has a high protein content. It’s true that most adults eat between meals for reasons other than hunger, but I think that’s a good thing.

Although there aren’t a lot of calories in it, which may be a problem for certain individuals, the calorie count isn’t ridiculously low.

It comes in at around slightly under 1400 calories, making it suitable for a lady who is in the process of losing weight.

The bottom line

In order to adhere to the Brightline eating plan, you must refrain from consuming bread and sugar and have three meals each day.
